Celebrating Family Literacy Day ~ Jan. 27, 2012

Friday January 27th, is family literacy day across Canada.  Since 1999 Canadians have been celebrating the important role family plays in raising strong readers.  Whether it making a recipe together, playing a game of cards, or reading the street signs on the way to an afterschool activity, there are lots of ways you can incorporate literacy into your lives and have fun doing it.

Randerson students and staff will be celebrating Family Literacy Day by teaming up with our buddy classes to enjoy a good book.

Throughout the week I will be posting clues or asking questions on the blog and in the library for anyone who wants to take part to solve the mystery or answer the question.  I look forward or your visits. Be sure to not only read the clue but pay attention to words that are italicized  for extra hints.

Mystery clue #1      Who am I?

Did you know Nanaimo has more than 588 hectares of City parks, over 100 kilometres of trails and 65 playgrounds?  That doesn't include the 22 sports fields in our Harbour City.  (source: City of Nanaimo)
I can be found in one of our many parks.
